Prior to establishing her private practice in Warrington, Cheshire, Dr Liddy Carver was a Senior Lecturer/Programme Leader in Counselling in Higher Education and Managing Editor of a Research Journal. She is a Clinical Supervisor and offers one-to-one and group supervision to experienced therapists and trainee practitioners. Her therapeutic experience over the past twelve years includes work in a university counselling service, national and independent, not for profit organisations and an occupational health department of a city hospital.

With her wide-ranging knowledge of how the mind and body respond to traumatic events and the recommended current treatments, she has a special interest in working with adults who are experiencing post-traumatic stress and dissociation. This combination of skill set and expertise gives her the edge when helping people with complex needs from all walks of life.

Dr Liddy Carver is a Counsellor in Warrington who specialises in providing help with anxiety/panic attacks, depression, trauma, stress, anger, relationship difficulties, bereavement, childhood associated issues and self-harm. She has attended workshops on a wide range of issues: sexual violence; child protection basic awareness; trauma; somatic trauma; domestic violence; sex, gender and sexuality; group work and group facilitation; counselling suicidal clients; introduction to gestalt therapy; existentialism; and the challenge of relational depth in therapy. As an accredited BACP counsellor/psychotherapist and EMDR Europe practitioner (accredited training to Level 3), she also offers Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a sole therapeutic option for clients as a separate course of treatment or in conjunction with talking therapy to address their issues in the most time-efficient and effective way possible.
